Fatima Santillan
Programs & Outreach Coordinator
Fatima Santillan supports program implementation, community engagement, and outreach efforts.
Fatima brings experience in legislative research,
constituent services, and community-based organizing, with a strong focus on
working alongside Latino and immigrant communities. Prior to joining Georgia
Appleseed, Fatima interned in the U.S. House of Representatives through the
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute where she supported legislation
development, stakeholder engagement, and cross-sector collaboration.
She has also worked as a legal assistant at an immigration
law firm, supporting case preparation, client communication, and
Spanish-language services. At the University of North Georgia, Fatima served as
President of the Latino Student Association, led campus programming, and
spearheaded the creation of a Dream Center designed to expand access to
resources, elevate community voices, and build pathways to opportunity.
Fatima earned her B.A. in Political Science from the
University of North Georgia. She is a UC Berkeley Public Policy &
International Affairs Junior Summer Institute Fellow and a Fulbright English
Teaching Assistantship alternate. She is fluent in Spanish and is committed to
advancing equitable policies through community-centered advocacy, culturally
responsive outreach, and public service.
