Housing Justice Summary

Safe, stable homes are the foundation for children’s physical and mental health and well-being. They keep families together and build vibrant, successful communities.

For hundreds of thousands of Georgia families, a safe, stable home seems out of reach. Georgia’s housing laws are outdated, amounting to some of the nation’s weakest renter protections. They don’t account for high rental costs and the lack of accountability for modern slumlords.

Our Housing Justice initiative advances policy that improves living conditions for children and their families in unsafe homes and unstable housing. By embracing pragmatic legal reforms, Georgia can create economic growth and vibrant, stable communities for all of us, and that is the goal of our Housing Justice work.
