Homelessness Intervention Program (HIP)
A collaborative social innovation lab develops and implements effective interventions to end homelessness and unhealthy housing conditions for low-income children and their families.
The HIP coalition is a Clayton County social innovation lab that brings county court, school, government, law enforcement, non-profit, and other local leaders together to develop equity-driven policy solutions that keep children and families in stable, healthy housing. Since HIP’s inception in 2019, the coalition’s policy initiatives protect thousands of local families from eviction, educate families and landlords about their legal rights, and boost county efforts to enforce housing safety laws. The HIP approach and best practices guide other localities looking to make the most of local resources and leadership to improve housing conditions for at-risk children and families.
