Child Homelessness in Georgia
Safe, stable housing is the foundation for children’s health, education, and family stability. When housing is out of reach, children face higher risks of homelessness, poor health outcomes, and academic disruption.
Nearly 60,000 children in Georgia are homeless or living in unstable housing, and student homelessness increased by more than 30% between 2022 and 2024.
Georgia Appleseed’s Housing Justice work advances policy solutions that improve living conditions for children and families in unsafe homes and unstable housing. Through the Georgia Healthy Housing Coalition, we work to prevent homelessness, strengthen housing stability, and reduce reliance on last-resort housing.
