Georgia Appleseed’s 2026 Policy Priorities focus on practical, evidence-based solutions that help children thrive at school, at home, and in their communities. Grounded in research and informed by direct engagement with children, families, educators, and community partners across Georgia, these priorities build on our ongoing work in school justice, housing stability, behavioral health, and foster care reform.

In 2026, we remain focused on:

• Promoting safe and positive school climates by supporting fair discipline practices and improving attendance strategies.

• Expanding access to school-based mental health services and strengthening the workforce that supports student well-being.

• Increasing access to safe, stable, and affordable housing for children and families.

• Improving outcomes for children and youth in foster care through better coordination, funding, and transition supports.
