Welcome to New Board Chair Micah Moon
Outgoing Chair, Eric Fisher, passes the gavel to fellow past YPC member
Georgia Appleseed is pleased to welcome Micah Moon as our new Board Chair, effective January 10. Micah is Assistant General Counsel at Delta Air Lines, where he partners closely with Delta colleagues on joint ventures, antitrust and competition law, government investigations, and antitrust litigation. His work sits at the intersection of complex legal analysis, risk management, and public policy.
Prior to joining Delta, Micah worked at Georgia-Pacific and Koch Companies Public Sector, advising internal clients on antitrust, unfair trade practices, and anti-boycott matters. He began his legal career in private practice at Alston & Bird, where he focused on antitrust litigation and counseling, commercial litigation, class actions, and consumer protection matters.
Micah joined Georgia Appleseed’s Young Professional’s Council (YPC) nine years ago, and joined the Board in 2021. Micah brings legal expertise, leadership experience, and a clear commitment to Georgia Appleseed’s work on children and families across Georgia.
Micah will lead Georgia Appleseed’s Board of Directors alongside a seasoned group of board officers:
- Adwoa Awotwi, Vice-Chair, is Vice President and General Counsel at LocumTenens.com, where she also serves as Chair of the company’s Inclusion Advisory Council and as a member of the Legislative Committee of the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations.
- Adam Ozgo, Treasurer, is Corporate Controller at Yancey Bros. and a CPA with prior experience at Ernst & Young. He also serves as a financial officer for another nonprofit and came to the board via his service with YPC, alongside fellow executive board members Micah Moon and Eric Fisher.
- David Brackett, Secretary, is a partner at Bondurant, Mixson & Elmore, focusing on complex commercial litigation, corporate governance, and government-related matters. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Georgia State University College of Law and Emory University School of Law.
- Eric Fisher, Immediate Past Board Chair, is Co-Chair of the Commercial Litigation Group at Barnes & Thornburg and has been involved with Georgia Appleseed since its early days, including representing students through Appleseed’s FAIR program.
Georgia Appleseed is grateful for Eric’s many accomplishments as Board Chair (including record fundraising, expansion of our FAIR Project, and an ambitious new strategic plan). We look forward to continuing the momentum under Micah’s leadership.
