Tribunal Volunteer Lawyers Network

Volunteer to Change a Child’s Future

What is TVLN?

Tribunal Volunteer Lawyers Network (TVLN) is a group of volunteer attorneys who help students facing long-term suspension or expulsion from school. TVLN is part of Georgia Appleseed’s FAIR initiative, and we are now working to expand this program across the state and would like additions to our metro and statewide networks.

Why does it matter?

Every year, many Georgia students miss valuable learning time because of school discipline. TVLN attorneys help keep students connected to their education by making sure the disciplinary process is fair and that outcomes support each child’s needs.

Who can volunteer?

Any licensed attorney in Georgia who cares about fairness and helping children can get involved. You do not need experience in education law, just a commitment to learning and a desire to make a difference.

How does it work?

Georgia Appleseed provides all the training and resources you need to represent students in school disciplinary hearings. As a volunteer, you will guide families through the process and advocate for fair, individualized outcomes that help children stay in school.

What impact can you make?

With just one case, you can help a student avoid being out of school for weeks or months and give them a real chance to succeed. Your advocacy can change a child’s education and the trajectory of their future.

Ready to Stand Up for Georgia’s Students?

Join the Tribunal Volunteer Lawyers Network (TVLN) today and use your legal skills to make a lasting difference. With training, mentorship, and support from Georgia Appleseed, you’ll be ready to advocate for children who need your help the most.
