Healing Arts Atlanta – Panel Discussion: Application in ATL of the Arts and Healing with Youth

October 10 @ 2:15 PM - 3:00 PM

The Carter Center Mental Health Program is partnering with the Michael C. Carlos Museum to host Positively Creative: The Arts and Youth Mental Health, as part of Jameel Arts & Health Lab’s Healing Arts Week Atlanta. This innovative and interactive program will ground participants in the science related to the arts and youth mental health, provide examples of the positive effects of art-making on the mental health of young people impacted by racism in metro Atlanta, and demonstrate the positive impact of artmaking on our own well-being through a collaborative collage activity.

On Thursday October 10, panelists Liz McDaniel, Georgia Appleseed, Center for Law & Justice, Jordan R. Murphy, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC, Center for Interrelational Science and Pediatrics, and Mohsin Mohi Ud Din, MeWe International, will share their work with art and the impact it is having on youth mental health, including those youth impacted by racism.

This program is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
