Rosalie Monroy

Administrative Assistant

Rosalie brings deep knowledge and broad experience to our team – including teaching, language, coding and tech programming, and social justice.

She was born and raised in north Alabama, her family among the first Hispanic families in her community. Growing up, she noted there were no or few resources for children of immigrants who were struggling in school. This aligned with Georgia Appleseed’s organizational goal to advance justice, including equitable education, for underrepresented children.

Rosalie graduated from University of Alabama in Huntsville with a B.A. in Secondary Education and focus in Spanish. She returned to Austin High School (her alma mater) to teach, wanting to help grow an understanding and acceptance of others through her own love and passion for Spanish and her Mexican heritage.

She pursues personal and professional progress as a lifetime goal, and loves learning just to learn, as demonstrated by her ongoing education in coding and frontend development. Her unofficial love languages are food, music and dancing (particularly salsa, bachata, and merengue.)
