Representing Students in School Tribunals in Georgia (3rd Edition)

Representing Students in School Tribunals Manual in Georgia

As part of Georgia Appleseed’s FAIR Project, lawyers across Georgia provide pro bono representation to children in foster care facing long-term suspension or expulsion. Exclusionary discipline like this causes a lifetime of negative consequences. Without volunteer representation, youth often have no one to properly advocate for them and ensure their rights are respected.

The new 3rd edition of our Representing Students in School Tribunals in Georgia provides pro bono attorneys with up-to-date tools they need to be powerful advocates for Georgia’s children. Georgia Appleseed is especially grateful to the members of the Young Professionals Council for their contributions to this manual and the Tribunal Volunteer Lawyers Network. The manual also could not have been completed without the tireless pro bono efforts of Barnes & Thornburg and DLA Piper.
