Office Manager and Bookkeper
DaShana is an accounting executive with over 28 years of experience in public, governmental, and nonprofit accounting. Before joining Georgia Appleseed in 2020, she most recently served in the capacity of Director of Finance for Grady Health Foundation (GHF). Prior to GHF, she was the Vice President of Finance for The Sheltering Arms, the oldest private, nonprofit early childhood education organization in the state of Georgia. She served the children and families there for over 14 years. Prior to that, her fiscal oversight was at The City of Philadelphia Housing Authority where she led the General Ledger group. She also served in fiscal leadership roles for Women Against Abuse, a domestic violence refuge; the City of Birmingham, Alabama; and Pitts, Daniels and Company, CPA. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Alabama A & M University and her Master of Science degree in management from Faulkner University. She is an avid soccer fan and has a favorite player, Marlon, her 12-year-old son.
